Often referred to as ‘The Venice of the North’ due to its beautiful buildings and exquisite architecture as well as abundant open water and green space, Stockholm is Sweden’s administrative and cultural capital.

Located on a series of 14 islands on the south-central east coast of Sweden, at the mouth of Lake Mälaren, Stockholm is a city filled with beauty, culture and intrigue. The city is home to more than 100 museums as well as two UNESCO World Heritage sites - the Royal Palace Drottningholm (within Ekerö Municipality) and the Skogskyrkogården (The Woodland Cemetery).

Uniquely situated in the heart of Stockholm, nestled next to the harbour and central station, The Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre is the city’s newest and most versatile large-scale venue, and a spectacular location for Sweden’s first ever ATP Champions Tour event.

With its illustrious history of tennis greats from Bjorn Borg to Mats Wilander and Stefan Edberg, Sweden is a natural destination for the ATP Champions Tour. Stockholm already plays host to an ATP 250 event in October, a tournament which has seen six different Swedish title-winners in its 42-year history, including ATP Champions Tour star and Kings of Tennis tournament director Thomas Enqvist.

Announced Players for 2012: John McEnroe, Pat Cash, Stefan Edberg, Mats Wilander, Goran Ivanisevic
