Team Greg - comprised of Tommy Haas, Marcos Baghdatis and captain Greg Rusedski - is out in front at myWorld Champions Tennis, held at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Haas led his group to a 2-1 victory over Team Goran on Friday and the trio now has four points overall in the team competition.

The former World No. 2 opened the afternoon session with a 4-2, 4-2 win over 2001 Wimbledon champion and team captain Goran Ivanisevic. Haas only required a single break in each set and prevailed in most of the long baseline rallies.

”I’m very happy overall. I’m pleased with how I was hitting the ball,” Haas said. “I feel very privileged to play against Goran and really enjoyed it. I never really got a chance to play against him on Tour and playing against him is a lot of fun. I seemed to return the serve well and move well around the court.

The German returned for doubles action with Greg Rusedski and they moved past Xavier Malisse/Juan Carlos Ferrero 4-3, 4-2. Little separated the teams in their entertaining clash, but Haas/Rusedski broke to love in the final game to close out the win.

”To follow up in the doubles was even better! Good fun, good tennis and to be out here in the Royal Albert Hall is amazing,” Haas said. “Both matches could have gone either way, especially with the new format. I’m very pleased for Team Greg.”

Ferrero closed out the day session with a win for Team Goran by defeating Marcos Baghdatis 4-1, 4-2. The Spaniard broke his opponent three times in cruising to victory.

"I really enjoyed this afternoon, I felt really good on the court and felt I could hit the ball the way I wanted to," Ferrero said. "I felt very confident on serve and I made sure to put pressure on Marcos since he can be very dangerous.”

Team Greg will have a chance to extend their lead when they face Team Tim in the evening session. Team Tim - comprised of David Ferrer, Mark Philippoussis and captain Tim Henman - are seeking their first win of the week. They fell to Team Greg 0-3 in Thursday’s day session.
