Team Haas Lead 2-1 in Brazil

Team Haas takes the lead 2-1 after Day 1 in Brasilia.

Under the midday sun, David Ferrer and David Nalbandian went head to head in the first match of the day here at Brasilia Champions. David Ferrer claimed the first set 4-2 with Nalbandian battling back to take the second set in a tie break 4-3 (3). The decider went the way of Nalbandian 4-0.

In Brazil’s capital of Brasilia, the next match up featured Fernando Gonzalez and Tommy Haas. The first set was tightly contested with Gonzalez coming out on top 4-3 (3). The second set was won by Haas 4-1 as the second match also went to the decider. The final set was clinched by Haas 4-2.

The final match of the day was a doubles match sealed with a win by David Ferrer and Rogerio Silva over David Nalbandian and Andre Sa 4-1, 4-2.

Overall the team scores are Team Haas 2 (Tommy Haas, David Nalbandian, Andre Sa) and Team Ferrer 1 (David Ferrer, Fernando Gonzalez, Rogerio Silva) after Day 1.
